My mum was looking through some old photographs and found this.

She is called Aureol and was the flag ship of the Elder Dempster Lines. There are some good pictures of her inside and out here.

Yes Liz, its' Liverpool, the Liver Building and Cunard Building are in the background. :) She thinks it was taken in the 1950's from a Mersey Ferry. The view is almost the one we now get from the Wirralcam.

Yes it was a major passenger port at the time. The new dock is almost in the same place as the old one. It is just a shame they left it so long between the old one going and building the new one.
