It really is fantastic.
Philatsea sails on Statendam
Okay here it is in a nut shell.
I decided on Sunday to try and book a Alaska S/B Gulf of Alaska cruise on HAL for my daughters 16th Birthday. I thought to myself I just did this cruise 2 years ago to the date with Princess but the price of $399 PP and 3/4 were free (pay port only) were to good to pass up. I have long promised my daughters a cruise and it was either now or it may not happen.
I was able to locate one way air from Seattle to Anchorage for $137.00. I did choose though to pay a little extra and fly out of Bellingham Washington. Vancouver air posed it's own problem as my kids don't have passports yet. They don't need them the other way, besides the $508 one way from YVR to ANC didn't take a brain surgeon to guess which was the better choice, besides Bellingham is closer than YVR
There is much more to the way HAL canceled my booking and then the cruise was sold out and then cabins would magically appear late at night and once again disappear daytime. But I am now booked.
I fly to Anchorage on May 26th and stay at the Westmark. I will then take the train to Seward and arrive at 11:05 in time to board the ship early
:D
The itinerary is as follows:
May 27 Seward (Anchorage) Alaska 8:00 pm
May 28 College Fjord Cruising, United 6:00 am - 9:00 am
May 29 Glacier Bay Scenic Cruising 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
May 30 Haines, Alaska 6:30 am - 9:00 pm
May 31 Juneau, Alaska 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
June 01 Ketchikan, Alaska 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm
June 02 At Sea
June 03 Vancouver, B.C. 7:00 am
Phil
WOW! What a great deal, Phil! You don't come across those prices every day! Your daughters will love it!!! :D
What a great deal! :D Which ship? I got a similar offer via e-mail with very low air add-on. I will be in the sulking corner as your cruise leaves on my birthday and I will be landlocked. :(

Hmm as it says in the topic of my post the Statendam. The problem is I be t almost no one looks at the topic of a post because it is blank or so small they don't notice.
