There is good news and bad news. Good first... Here is Astor coming in to Kiel for her canal transit. Bad news: Weather is awful. Good news: They have been rearranging the Kielmonitor site, added the three canal sites with cams (Canal Cup, KielKanal-Live and Schacht-Audorf) and maybe some other cams. Also added the Brunsbeuttel cam. However, the site has been up and down today as I have been trying to use it, and the Kiel-Holtenal cams have not updated since this time yesterday. AARGH! Saw Maxim Gorkiy was in the locks, but no pictures. CJ

I was looking for Silver Wind again yesterday, but she never showed, and I couldn't find her in port anywhere. Went to CruiseCal today and pulled her up, and her calendar is blank from June 1 when she was scheduled for Stockholm, until June 15, also in Stockholm. Seems like an odd time for a drydock, in high season...CJ

Cams were not nice to me today. I got Amadea once: But didn't realize the Canal Cup cam had stopped updating until she was already under the bridge. then I couldn't get the S-A cam to update, so this is all I got: Now, while I was waiting for her to come by the Kiel Kanal live cam, this vessel came by: No AIS on her, Kiel AIS wasn't reaching that far...Any ideas? CJ

Well, AIS says this yacht, Al Mirqab, yacht of the Emir of Qatar is in the canal, but mine doesn't match...

Well, AIS says this yacht, Al Mirqab, yacht of the Emir of Qatar is in the canal, but mine doesn't match... CJ, your Al Mirqab is now the charter yacht Indian Empress. http://www.internationalyachtchartergroup.com/yacht-details/indianempress312 The new Al Mirqab is brand new for 2008 and is undergoing (or maybe just finished) sea trials. Nice capture!!! :D

I believe she has been Minerva, Saga Pearl, and most recently Alexander von Humboldt. CJ
