Really enjoyed your review, Lena.
South Pacific/New Zealand is on our priority list.
Interesting note: Your Captain - Jack van Couverden. This was the original
surname of the family of Captain George Vancouver, who charted much of the west coast and
for whom Vancouver and Vancouver Island are named. The surname was
anglicized when the family left Holland and moved to England.
David, I can not say enough times how much I really enjoyed our time in NZ. We have decided that next time we will come a month later and do a land tour. We will do a cruise too, but we haven't started planning just yet.
Thanks Cliff, that is an interesting note regarding the Captain. I wouldn't be at all surprised if his family tree included Captain George Vancouver.

February is a good month to look at.The weather has usually settled down by then and its much warmer.

So I am hopeful that we have chosen a decent time- 20.01- 06.02.08?
The weather sound much like UK summer weather, but maybe Auckland may be wamer?
Lena, fantastic review and photos!
What a great job you did journaling your trip and the way you were able to articulate it had me thinking I was there. I’ll pass on the cold part! The text with the photos makes it so much easier to understand the journey.
Thank you, for sharing your adventure, and your photos.
