Redqueen, you might be right, it could well the the Mulwaukee, or the St Louis, the two ships must have been from the same class. The colours are right so we are on the right line so to speak.
Take off the mast at the bow and stern and it would look very much like the one in Liz is after.
Watching the video I think it shows St. Louis on the side of ship. At around 18 min 20 seconds in video... :?: :?: :?:
Thats what I thought Bob, and when I did a search it came up with a ship with the right colour funnels and it looked quite like it so hopefully we have the answer :)
Fantastic, folks. :D :D :D
Now, Lena, how on EARTH did you come up this :?: :?: :D :D ....I am totally impressed :D
NEXT QUESTION....WHY would this ship be featured in a video which is supposedly about the RMS Queen Elizabeth :?:
If we only knew when that movie was made, it might help. According
to my reference book, Milwaukee was seized by Britain at the end of WW2
and renamed Empire Waveney. It was then used as a troop carrier.
It burned and sank at Liverpool 1946 and was scrapped in Scotland
in 1947. However, the picture I have is very close to the movie picture.
St. Louis became a hotel ship in Hamburg in 1946 after sustaining
damage while in Kiel in 1944. SHe was scrapped in Germany in 1952.
No other Hamburg-America ships look close. Also, don't the last few minutes
of this movie show shots of QE2?? Further, there are scenes showing a
naval vessel following which looks post WW2.
The mystery deepens
Cliff, the pictures of the bow of a ship are the QE2, I could even show you where they were taken from. :)

Galaxy. I guess I had my volume a little high, because I jumped out of my chair just like that guy jumped out of his Mazda.
Mark
What do the horn blasts mean? 3 blasts = what? And what about the rest of the blasts? What do they mean?
3 short blasts is the signal that the ships engines are going astern. Means
the ship is or is about to back up.
Can you imagine meeting that Mazda on the street :D
Tribute to France/Norway.....VERY EMOTIONAL
