New Years cruise
This tour started on New Years evening and midnigth was about half way to Turku where first ship was (again) Amorella. After they had been big partys onboard last nigth , most passangers sleep all day. And because i drive last nigth and next night i also use most of day sleeping. That ship didnt offer anything new , but like all Viking Line boats there are only small box where can smoke inside, so there was always lot of people outside on rain... Thats why i use now other companies ships if posible. So next i drive over nigth to Moss located Oslofjord. Weather was worst to drive all nigth. There was a second ship Bastø I it takes about half hour go other side Horten. Nice boat for that kind short crossing. After that driving to Kristiansand, southest city in Norway. Norway south coast is very beautyfull and i think even much more in summer. Next ship was Christian IV , she will be replaced newbuilding on February. Good ship and good food and storm. I had outside cabin on front of ship. That Kristiansand - Hirtshals - Kristiansand minicruise takes only 12 hours. 7 AM i was back in Kristiansand and then two and half hour drive to Langesund. There was a rain about 10 cm snow last nigth and it can easily see on roads. Next ship was a Fantaasia it is been about ten years when i was last time that ship. She is been refurbished totaly inside. There was only about 100 passangers. It takes few hours to sail on Strömstad, Sweden. There i drive to Oslo, its about 100 km to north. Color Festival leave Oslo 8PM. I cant believe my eyes when i check ship interior, it is from totaly another world than sistership Silja Festival. Very beautyful and Color Line is spend lot of money to refurbished that ship. There was a storm like almost all time , so next morning we dont go to Frederikshavn, ship turn around near SDenmark coast and sail back to Oslo. There we was about three hour earlier 4PM. Too bad they sold that ship. Next time i need to visited mediterranean :lol: Next was about 150 drive to south-west to Larvik and next ship Peter Wessel, that ship is start early 80´s Finland Wasa Line Vaasa Umeå/Sundsvall routes , she is been lengthened about 20 meters later and build much more cabins. And once again cabin was front of ship almost under to bridges wing. This time deluxe cabin, but not so good than i expect. But good anyway with TV, minibar etc.. now there was about 20 - 25 m/s wind and 4-5 meters waves on sea. Nightclub was greta this ship, but there was less than 500 people onboard. Ship arrival Hirtshals early next morning and after we leave back to Norway Color Festival was waiting outside harbour. They drive that time Hirtshals, because there was still too bad storm on sea , so they cant go to Frederikshavn. 3PM we was back to Larvik and there was this time snowstorm coming and get us in Sandefjord next town to Larvik. Bohus was next ship Sandefjord to Strömstad , it is small and old ferry so there was lot of passangers to seasick. I spend that croossing to watching to skijumping on bar. Like all Norwegian ferrys that ws also refurbished inside. I was in Strömstad about 7PM and that storm was there too, next nigth i drive back to east coast to Sweden, Kapellskär. There was that time hundreds accidents on roads and some roads closed. Finnclipper was last ship. Like always there very good food good cabin and ones more front of ship :lol: :lol: So it can much better feel that storm outside tahn middle ship. There was baout 50 passangers onboard, mostly truck drivers. &PM back to Naantali and about 1.30AM back to home. I will visited that area Norwegian coast again, but summer time. :lol: I don't now what peter Wessel doing on the wheels, but the real Peter Wessel is sailing on the sea :D I see that you have sail whit my ship Bastø I, whit the best crew on watch. It was well bether that Color Festival skipped Frederikshavn than a collision in the harbour. on january 5th they sailed to Hirtshals. and used 7hour and 25minuts up to Oslo, for å great ship whit some very godd engine :D Great picture els.
