Finally, am through Cadiz
Saturday, May 17, 2008 was a breezy sea day.
I spent a good deal of it right HERE

Sunday, May 18, Cadiz
This was looooong day.
Had decided on a bus and walking tour, which included a Taverna for Flamenco and Tappas. Since it was a Sunday, almost all of the shops were closed.
Cadiz is really quite a small, compact city in area. The tour bus took us past the Botanical Garden and out to the Bay. It then returned to the city and dropped us off at the Main Square by the Town Hall, from which we walked to the Cathedral, and went inside. After that we walked through lovely streets to the Taverna for the Flamenco and then met the bus again at the Espana Square, by the Cortez Monument.
Took the bus back to the ship.

First Video is from the Bus and some of the walk

Second one is more of the walk to the Taverna, including the Cathedral

The third one is from the Taverna. Pity that it is so dark; you can barely see the dancers. I know nothing about Flamenco, but I thought they were quite good. Probably once is enough, though. The wine and tappas were fair, at best
The long discussion by the Cortez Monument was about the best way to get cash for tips. THIS, I accomplished successfully.

After returning to the ship, I set off on my own. Main mission was to see if I could find out anything about the Cadiz cam. Went to two different tourist offices, but they were totally clueless. Did find one Security Guard who knew about it and pointed out the building were it is/was. Of course, the Port Authority Office was closed, it being Sunday. Maybe when I am there in March
So, wandered around the Port Area and took pictures. Looked just like it did on the webcam

Then, came back onboard to arrange the stalk. So cute,…. one of the Bar Steward’s, Greg, asked me when I left again, “Do you think that they will really see you?”. I reported to him later, that “Yes, they found the ‘right speck’ “. :D
And this was the evening of the Grand Suite Soiree. Had received a written invitation under my door :D

The lay-out of their suite, 8002, looks nothing like it does on the Cunard site. This is NOT TO SCALE, and, of course, has more furniture in it

Andrea and Len and me

And they even invited an “eligible” gentleman  for me. Tim, a very nice guy

By this time, I was feeling very ill, indeed, from my cold, and did not go in to dinner. My onboard bar bill for this day was $0
