September voyagesBetter later than never, so here is finaly something my last month tours.
My first part of tour was Viking Lines Rosella, old 1980 build ferry witch been few last year operate on Helsinki - Tallinn route. Ship is been refurbished many times , but still have basic problems for old Viking Line ferries, small cabins and not enough public spaces. I had a outsied cabin, very good condition and clean , but only about 6 m2!!
Dinner was excellent on Buffet Restaurant. And it was about only place on ship where you can find free place to sitting. Luckily Viking Line have March 2008 new Viking XPRS to replace that old thing..
After that 14 hour minicruise i wa back in Helsinki. I have some hours to spend before check in to Silja Serenade, so i visited A ship sailed to Helsinki- a historical exhibition of passenger ships. There was lot of interesting modelships and photos.
About 3PM start to check in to Silja Serenade and first i go to Pub watch on Formula 1 GP. My cabin located 1 deck and even it was a inside cabin, it was about doule that size than Rosellas cabin and much better. I eta dinner on Mundo Quick and Easy restaurant an dthst food was not so good than expencive. There was a lot of activities on Nigth Club and other restaurants. But that Disco " Club Bali" deck 13. Looks more like demonstration after Bali terror attack, horible looking place, where should be good Observation Lounge. Breakfast was this tour best on Silja Buffet. And about 10AM i arrived to Stockholm.
I spend day walking aroud Stockholm and take lot of photos local boats.
6PM Birka Paradise leave from Stockholm 22 hour cruise to Mariehamn and back. This time my cabin located deck 8. Ship is only three years old and it can see everywhere. This evening i eat to Fastfood on Cafe, because of flu i was not a realy hungry. later evening i spend on Nigthclub and many ship lounges and naturaly that beautyfull glass roof Paradise Beach , where was a disco starting to 10PM.
I wake early next morning and take a photos around to ship. Lunch i eat Grand Buffet and it was a good basic buffet lunch. Soon after that i was back to Stockholm.
I had only one hour change ship Birka Paradise to MAriella , but i make it to about 20 minutes ship to another.
There was not a much tell to Mariella, same old ship. Cabin was a stern on deck 6 and there i spend most of that voyage. Luckily i had a good book to read. And next morning about 10 AM i was back in Helsinki and later evening back to home.

Next one was a last weekend 30 September. It was last day when Tallink Autoexpress operate on Helsinki - Tallinn route, so i think to visisted there when its still posible. Ship leave to Helsinki 12.30 and there was only about 100 passangers onboard. These Austal catamarans are very fast almost 40 knots. So it takes only 1,5 hours to get Tallinn. There i visited most interesting place, Baltic first MacDonalds!! and then it was time to start to walk back to harbour. This time ship was Linda Lines Merilin, formely CAT 1 from Germany. She is also Austal build cartamaran , but two deck passanger ferry and even faster than Autoexpress service speed 42 knots. And it can feel when go to sundeck on sea. There was a two cafe / bar and very small shop onboard. About 6 PM back to Helsinki again.
