I found following message by Martin Cox (Maritime Matters)
STELLA POLARIS is leaving Japan. The stairway from the pier has been
cut away and water & sewer lines disconnected. To Shanghai they
says, then Stockholm!

STELLA POLARIS Sunk?
September 1: Unconfirmed reports indicate that 1927-built SCANDINAVIA (ex STELLA POLARIS) "appears to have sunk off Cape Shionomisaki, south of Nagoya", while under tow. Update coming as soon as we have it.
Sinking is a better fate for a ship than being ripped apart on the beach at Alang. At least the ship is still together!

Stella Polaris was planned to come new hotelship in Stockhom.

That is very sad news, she looked like a beautiful ship. But it's not a bad way to go for a grand old lady of the seas.
