I had posted this link a while back. Great pictures of the last years of the sea pounding this ship. Looks like it is finally over. Farewell to a great ship with a long history. Alas, better the sea than Alang. http://www.flare.net/users/e9ee52a/S.S.%20America1.htm

I hadn't seen any pics of her for a few months. Can't believe she's finally gone :cry: . I sailed on her when she was the SS Australis, from Sydney to Southampton. I was 14 at the time & it was my introduction to cruising. A very memorable trip. Karen
