Speaking of HAL...The Westerdam is out of her drydock.... They have enlarged her rump ! Doesn't look that great.

For a female, an enlarged rump is NEVER a good sign...CJ

Can anyone tell me who this is, and where it was taken? I know, because I took it...CJ

CJ, I have been researching the status of ships our parents used in their travels. One of them was "Cambodge" which later became SS Stella Solaris when she was refurbished around 1973-4. She was quite elegant. She looked very tired in the last pictures I saw of her before she went to Alang in 2003. I know she did some world tours and spent a lot of time in South America. I am guessing that it is SS Stella Solaris in your picture and that you are some place in Brazil.

Here is another taken in Manaus, in Nov. 1994. Of course there is no guessing who she is...When my sister suggested we should take a vacation together, in 1998, I puzzled long and hard about where to go. but one night I remembered seeing these two ships at the floating pier in Manaus, and I knew I wanted to be on a ship callng there. So our first cruise together was Royal Princess, Jan/Feb. 1999, Buenos Aires to Manaus. CJ
